WHY SUPPORT BELL CREEK?
Bell Creek Nature School is a fully outdoor nature-based school for Preschool through First Grade. Our students experience their educational journey in a setting that supports exploration, experimentation, hands-on and place-based learning. We prioritize connection, curiosity, kindness, self-confidence, and a love for learning.
Being outdoors, Bell Creek attracts students who struggle in more traditional, public school settings. These students thrive in the outdoors and once they integrate into our nature program, they quickly regain self-confidence in their ability to learn and grow. They begin to love school again! Our programs are flexible in design to meet the unique needs of each child because when it comes to kids, there is no such thing as one size fits all! However, many children in our community who need a learning environment like Bell Creek are not able to afford it.
Mission for the Bell Creek Fund:
- Making high quality education and outdoor connection accessible and barrier-free – We are located in a low income rural area with very few alternative educational opportunities
- Providing a rich learning foundation where children build confidence, are supported in pursuing their interests, and are empowered to challenge themselves and persevere through hard moments
- An educational and social environment where children feel safe to be themselves and are empowered to help and care for others and the Earth
- Getting kids outside! Stewarding a space where children have access to nature and all of its magic
- Providing a sustainable and supportive workplace for our incredible teachers who have chosen to dedicate themselves to future generations, upholding our mission, and reaching our goals year after year
- Funding operational costs that tuition alone doesn’t cover
